Sound`s not too loud, thoughtful, meditative. Not very demanding to the quality of the beat and the clarity of articulation, but at the same time is very responsive to articulation. The spectrum is biased towards the middle overtones, although high harmonics are present to the right degree.
Despite its small size, the attenuation is quite long, which is an advantage when playing at medium and slow pace. The sound is symmetrical in both directions.
