Лавка. Japanese Kou Kins. "Frame" kou kin by Yamazaki Takashi, Japan
Origin Country: Japan
Reed length: 70 mm
Rigidity: soft
Material: steel with titanium nitride coating
Set:mouth harp
Description: This is a very interesting and unusual model. It is made of steel, which gives it rigidity, with an external coating of titanium nitride, which gives it a yellow color and anti-corrosion effect.
The frame is not of the classical form, rather the form of the window frame, with the doors ajar at 90 degrees.
Despite the extravagant shape, the kou kin is quite comfortable to hold in your hand. There is an additional shelf to put the tips of the fingers of the dome-folded palm creating an additional resonating chamber.
This is a fairly high-frequency kou kin, not intended for high-speed play. The beat is not symmetrical but it is not too picky about the accuracy of the beating.
It works well with articulation, this model will be interesting for tonal play.
